Meet Gable! Have you ever seen such a handsome dog?! Look at those gorgeous eyes! He likes to think he was named after Clark Gable, because he is so handsome. Good looks and all around awesome - what more could you want in man’s best friend? He is a laid back dude who loves sitting next to you. One of his most favorite things to do is to cuddle up with anyone who will give him the time. He gets along great with medium to large dogs, He just doesn't understand what the little ones are. Gable likes to play, but since he is an older gentleman he doesn't need a lot of exercise, and does not get rambunctious. He has great house manners and is house and crate trained. Not only is he well-behaved, but he is a smart boy and easily picks up on new things and is very trainable.
Gable came to us after having to fend for himself all alone on the streets of Houston. He would follow people around and give them the sad puppy dog eyes hoping to get something. Several people in the neighborhood had been feeding him, and although he was super friendly, no one could get a leash on him. (we told you he was smart). We knew we had to help and went out determined to get a leash on him so we could help. He was very scared on the leash at first and wouldn't walk with it at first. Unfortunately, he had learned that it was hard to trust anybody when you are just trying to survive. However, after a few treats and some positive attention, he figured out that the leash was not so bad. Now he walks great on a leash and loves walks. He also loves car rides, and rides perfectly in the car.
Gable is a 7-8 year old, male Bull Terrier/Great Dane/American Bulldog mix. We know this sounds like a strange mix, but we have his DNA test to prove it!
This sweet boy has waited too long to find a home to call his own - years! He would be so unbelievably happy to be part of a forever family! He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and ready to come home with you.
