Meet Zoey!
Zoey was surrendered at BARC a few weeks ago and was on the short list to go to the bridge. Until a watchful eye noticed this cutie and brought her to our attention. That afternoon she was set free and ready to start her new life!
Zoey is a positively darling white/yellow lab gal. She is approx 1 year old and weighs 46 pounds. She is petite in size, but not in personality. Zoey rides great in the car, give free kisses along the way. She is your happy-go-lucky lab and would do great with another dog or an active family to play with.
Zoey is still very much a puppy. She is a ball o'energy and right out of the gate in the morning she is jumpy, excited and happy. Her energy is boundless and she is absolutely awesome precious! We think she has LOTS of training potential. You just need to be patient and work with her consistently. She is super smart. She eats very fast & could likely star in dog food commercials. Since she gulps so fast, we are breaking it up into two 1/2 cups in an effort to slow her down. :)
Zoey loves to play hard! She loves to play with toys – all kinds of them! We keep plenty in the toy box and she plays with almost all of them. She especially likes anything she can carry around in her mouth...balls or rope toys. Because of her boundless energy, she would do well with another active dog that is as enthusiastic at play as she is. Side note: She also likes to carry shoes if they are around :)
She is a confident dog. Our older female does not like to be bothered and lets Zoey know that. Zoey pays attention and does not relentlessly try to engage. She backs off and finds something else to do. She seems like she would be ok being an only dog. Since she is happy to play by herself if she engages the other dogs to play and they don’t play with her. Just be prepared to pick up the slack when it comes to playtime!
Zoey is absolutely loveable and her energy is infectious. She is eager to learn and please. If someone is looking for a calm and focused dog, Zoey is not the dog for them. Zoey is very much a lab..she is focused on toys and play especially. She can be high energy..BUT that is a lab...they love their humans and they love balls and they love attention and they love to play. They are active dogs. We love lab energy!
Zoey also does very well in her crate. She doesn't whine or bark. She settles in pretty quickly and is a heavy sleeper. Play hard...sleep hard!
