Beautiful Zemba. This is one happy dog. She is always smiling – and is ever ready to play or snuggle. She can show you how to play a mean game of canine soccer. Just watch out – she gets very focused on the game! She also loves to sit quietly on the floor next to her person(s), and just enjoy being loved and cared for. Zemba Dee had been at the LaPorte Shelter for over a month when she was rescued by Scouts Honor, and has been living with her foster family to gain weight and regain her glossy coat. The vet estimates she is about five years old and found her to be in good health. We think she is a collie-lab-retriever (?) mix, fully grown at about 55 lbs. She has been spayed, up to date on shots, and is heartworm-negative. Zemba Dee is a fun and spunky dog – she loves people, and attention, and being close to her person(s). She does not like other dogs so much, and would prefer to be the only dog. Not sure what her early history was, and why she does not like other dogs – perhaps she is just super protective of her person around dogs. She is house-trained, and crate-trained. She rides well in the car and walks well on a leash! Zemba is a very smart dog and has learned to sit and shake hands. Her foster mom feels she had an owner at one time, but has been fending for herself for a long time. Zemba’s foster mom says her photography skills are sorely lacking, and Zemba is even more beautiful than in pictures. She is definitely ready to be someone’s loving and loyal companion.
