Meet gorgeous Viva! Viva is a black and white, medium-sized and beautifully compact American Pit Bull Terrier. And is this girl vivacious! (Hence her name.)

Viva was found as a stray, and she desperately needs a foster to love on her. She is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. If she had a companion to take her running, I think she would be in Heaven. Viva is about 1 to 2 years old, is about 50 pounds (although she could stand to put on a little weight), and has a SERIOUS case of Happy Tail! In fact, her tail was so happy, that she wacked it so hard on her kennel that she injured it so badly that it had to be partially amputated. We hated that it had to happen, but she just couldn't express her love without walloping her tail to pieces. Trust us, though, her shorter tail has not slowed her down one bit.

Viva has shown no aggression toward other dogs, and in fact, if a foster can't be found, I am going to see about her hanging out a bit at Happy Tails Dog Spa, where she can really work her Happy Tail. She has so much energy and love to give, I would be surprised if she didn't just love, love, love to romp with other doggies! I would worry about putting her in a home with cats, though, simply because of her energy level. Although she has never shown an ounce of aggression, she might not know her own happy strength with smaller animals.

Can you foster her? I really think she would be such a fun dog to care for as you watch her learn to be a puppy and play and run. I'm not going to lie to you, she may need a little manners work at first because it was obvious she was not cared for, but I think with some love and patience, she will be an awesome companion.As always, Scout's Honor covers the costs associated with fostering.
