Meet handsome Vincent! Vincent was rescued from Laporte Pound right when his time was up. As you can see by the pictures, Vincent is a gorgeous shepherd mix with one blue eye and one brown eye. He is approximately 9 months old and weighs 50 pounds. We expect him to grow a little more and wind up in the 65 pound range.
Vincent knows his name, and he understands "Sit" and "Down," and his foster mom is working on "Stay" (he gets too excited and impatient!) and "Off." Vincent is great on a leash, but does like to pull if he sees something that he thinks needs to be inspected by Inspector Vincent.
Vincent LOVES sticks. He finds one and wants to take it home with him, unless he finds a bigger one, then the first one is history. What a personality! Vincent is housebroken. He is good for other dogs, but is super playful and get a little overzealous without even realizing it, so he would need to be monitored so he does not make the other dog mad! He is also good with kids, but again, he is an excited little boy so may bump a child over, so we recommend he go to a home with older children at least until we can get his exuberance in check.
Vincent also loves to chase his tail, and his foster mom thinks that he has some kind of imaginary friend because he will be playing with a toy and all of a sudden he jumps and starts barking and pouncing at something and starts running around the living room nonstop until he gets tired. It is hilarious because he will go full speed doing circles around the couch, and all of a sudden, he stops, barks, and changes direction, goes to the kitchen or the bedroom and barks at the wall and starts all over again. Whew--that is a mouthful, but boy is he entertaining!
In sum, Vincent is a real sweetheart who is full of energy and loves to play. He is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy, please contact us at
