Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Catahoula Leopard Dog / Mixed (short coat) • Female • Senior • Medium
Vega was adopted years ago but her mom was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer and is moving to Atlanta for treatment and cannot take Vega. We welcomed Vega back with open arms of course, but boarding is NO place for this senior girl!
Vega is an Australian Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix who is very smart, alert, eager to please!
Although she will sit and snooze at your feet for hours, she would rather sit on the couch next to you or sneak up onto the bed at night. Vega is very loyal. She loves to get into the car, go outside for walks and run around for a bit in the backyard, but mainly she wants to be inside the house by your side.
Vega lived happily with her feline siblings, enjoying quiet cat naps together. She becomes very bonded to her person so we think a forever home where she would be the only dog in the household would be best – cats are just fine.
Vega’s got the basic tricks perfected: sit, stay, come, lay down AND knows how to high-five, bow and jump around in a circle. She is a VERY smart girl! Vega is house, crate and car trained. She’s great at the vet’s, likes to get her nails done (clipped at the vet’s) and doesn’t mind baths!
Vega is approximately 9 years old and weighs 55lbs. She is healthy, up to date on her vaccinations/preventatives, spayed and micro-chipped.
