Meet our first official rescue of 2013! Tony was rescued from the mean streets by SHR and Jan 1st was the 1st day of the rest of his life. Found limping in the drizzle on New Year's day, we noticed him out of the corner of our eye. We stopped and said hi, got out, and Tony came right to us and stood there for a bit. In almost no time whatsoever, he put his paw on me. As if to say, okay, you can rescue me now. And we did!
Once in the car, Tony road with one foot on the seat and one foot on my arm. From then on, life has been looking a whole lot brighter and Tony is enjoying every single minute of it!! He has been in a foster home for several months and they just adore him. Tony's most favorite thing in the whole world are the kids in the house. He follows them everywhere, plays in their room with them, gives them extra snuggles when tired. Sometimes we wonder who is babysitting who! He is an active boy and keeps his foster family on the move. Tony is very playful and loves his toys and playing in the backyard with the kids.
Tony is a black lab mix, approx 2 years old and weighs in right at 60-65 lbs. He has giant brown eyes and looks up at you with the sweetest of faces. He is very gentle and loving. He LOVES other dogs and will romp and play without any issues. He is even really good at sharing! Tony even gets along great with cats!! He would be happy for you to pat him and scratch his chin all day long. I have a pretty good idea that he will be quite the snuggle bug forever. He will give you his paw as a sign of trust & then he is ready to do the next thing with you. He has major happy tail! His tail has a white tip as if dipped in paint, so cute. He wags it and his entire bum so fast that his tail comes around and he smacks himself with it. He is one happy boy these days!
