TJ 2

TJ was rescued from BARC on Monday & is in search of a new family and home of his own!  TJ is a ringer for one of our board members personal dogs- so we believe TJ is a Golden/Lab mix just like him.  He is 3-4 years old and weighs just over 60 lbs right now.  After he puts on the proper weight needed, he should be a little closer to the 70lb range.  TJ is great with everyone!  He loves other dogs, is fabulous with kids, rides great in the car, you name it!  He got out of boarding for a few days and the foster mom said that TJ is a fun house guest and he had a great time!  He got along great with all the other dogs and even when the boss dog told him he was top dog in the house…TJ just seemed to say ok and brought him a toy to play with.  They hopped around and wrestled quite a bit and ran around in the backyard every chance they got. TJ minds very well, came when called, sat to get treats, stopped what he was doing when told no.  He was curious about the cat, but my cat doesn’t let anyone close enough to know how he would be with them.  All I had to do was direct his attention somewhere else and he forgot the cat was there.

We worked on housetraining & by the end of the weekend, he was ringing the back door bell a couple of times to ask to go out. What a smart boy!!!!  TJ’s very smart and very willing to learn for attention and treats.  He loves hugs, belly rubs, snuggles, just about anything he can get!  Someone will be very lucky to have him as part of their family.  He does like a lot of attention and has a pretty high activity level, but was content to settle down afterward with a rawhide and just hang out.

A perfect day for TJ would be some fun family time, play time with the other dogs, maybe a swim in a pool or pond while chasing after a tennis ball……finished with a cuddle in front of the TV.
