Strummer is a HANDSOME Golden Retriever Mix boy that was saved from the hangman's noose by pure luck. One day a Scout's Honor board member was at our vet's office to check on a dog when a man brought in a dog that was in very poor shape. We never heard the full story because the man seemed to be giving conflicting information to the vet. From what we were able to gather it appears that Strummer was this man's dog and people kept calling the police on him claiming animal abuse, and he was tired of it so he brought him in to be put to sleep. When the vet heard this story he came to us and told us his story. Strummer was in pretty bad shape, but the vet said it was nothing that a little time, TLC and some medicine couldn't fix. Poor Strummer was very skinny and was missing most of his  hair and just looked like he had lived a very rough life, and probably had never had a bed or been indoors. Despite his poor condition, he was and is the sweetest dog and is very gentle with everyone that he meets. He's about 6 to 7 years old.  

 

Strummer’s bad days are all behind him!  He’s grown all his hair back and put on just the right amount of weight to make him one handsome fella.  He’s a fun-loving guy too.  He loves to play with tennis balls and does great when he goes to the dog park.  Everyone that meets him says he is such a great dog.  He's a total ham and would be a wonderful addition to just about any home!

Strummer is a super sweet boy.  He is very laid back and is good with other dogs.  He’s currently in a foster home with another mid-size dog and does great!  He’s got great house-manners and is crate-trained.  He rides well in a car and also walks great on a leash.  Oh, and he’s a lover and a snuggler!  Won't you consider opening your home and heart to this sweet boy and turning his luck around?
