Strax is the last of a litter of 6 rescued from Brazoria, TX. He’s a high-energy, happy, quick-learning pit bull pup who loves completely. He’s a little over a year old and is about as big as he’s going to get at a very compact 45lbs. He absolutely *loves* toys and will romp and play for hours when given a few toys.
Strax has excellent house manners and knows to keep off the furniture, leave food on the coffee table alone, and that stuffed animals are friends, not chew toys. While he will always prefer to be with you, he is also crate trained and goes in when given the command.
Strax has never met a human he hasn’t adored, but he especially loves kids and will wait patiently in a ‘sit’ until he is released and allowed to give lots of slobbery kisses. While his high energy might be a bit much for a more timid child, he’s extremely tolerant of being picked up, laid on, tugged, poked, prodded, and pulled around (see video below). Put him together with with a romping child and you will have a very tired duo by the end of the day.
Strax also like most other dogs and even horses. He sometimes gets overwhelmed with larger groups of dogs, but does great one-on-one and once he gets to know everyone. He’s getting pretty good walking on leash, and does even better off-leash. Even with unfenced acres to run and sniff around it, a quick whistle and he comes running back.
He's currently in a fabulous foster home with 2 other Pittie/Pittie mixes and is loving every minute of it - and not being in boarding! He's such a social boy and oh, did we say he LOVES to play?! He will also settle down and lounge around too when it's quiet or tv time.
