Meet Stewie!  Stewie is a sweet Border Terrier/Shepherd mix. He was picked up as a stray by BARC (Houston Pound) and was due to be euthanized and we just couldn't let that happen. He had such a great personality and seemed to have a perpetual smile that told us that he was a good boy if someone just gave him a chance.

Stewie is currently in a foster home with 2 other dogs (a Westie Mix and a Poodle) and just does GREAT! He has gone to doggie day care and plays well with the other dogs. He's really just a great, happy-go-lucky kind of guy! He LOVES to watch for squirrels in his backyard and he literally can climb up a tree to try to reach them. He would make a great running/walking partner, but also likes to just hang out and relax - best of both worlds! His only drawback is that he can  scale a 5ft  fence as he has some serious jumping abilities. So, Stewie needs to go to a home that has ample fencing and where he will not be left outdoors unsupervised.  He also needs to go to an active home that can provide him the exercise he needs.

Stewie is a medium size dog, weighing about 40 or so pounds and is about 4-5 years old. Stewie is house-trained, crate-trained, and is well-behaved. He is also neutered, up to date on vaccinations and micro-chipped.
