Spud

If you’re looking for a large, well-mannered, almost-no-shedding cuddle buddy, Spud is your boy!

Spud, aka “Spud-icus” is a 75ish lbs handsome brindle patchwork pit bull who loves being around people.  He’s a perfect combination of wanting to be with you, but not constantly being in the way. If you’re cooking dinner, he’ll be sitting patiently close-by (perhaps waiting for a stray morsel).  If you’re cleaning up, he’ll follow you room to room and watch and wait for the occasional pat.  If you’re on the computer, he won’t get in the way by trying to climb in your lap.  He just wants to put his head in your legs and enjoy being with you.

Which isn’t saying that he’s a lazy boy.  He loves to romp and wrestle and dash about with his two foster sibling, a male corgi and a female rottie. He’s just good at knowing when it’s play time, and when it’s calm down and snuggle time. When not playing, he’s quiet as a mouse.  No barking at mailmen or even squirrels in the backyard.

Speaking of backyard, I don’t think they come with any better house manners than Spud. No chewing, no raiding trash (even when at eye level and full of leftovers), no begging at the table, no getting on furniture without permission, and *no* accidents.  Not a single one the entire time his fosters have had him. He will even squeeze though a much-too-small dog door to make sure he does his business outside.

He is also super tolerant and doesn’t mind being tugged, prodded, laid on, picked up, or even sharing toys, food bowls, and beds. He’s a little spooked by thunderstorms, but instead of chewing up the house, he calmly walks to the bathroom and hangs out in the shower for a couple of hours.

At the end of the day, all Spud wants is to curl up next to you and nuzzle his face into your side with a big sigh. Won’t you consider giving him a forever home?   (Besides, how can you resist those ears!)

Oh, and Spud is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped too.
