THIS DOG COULD NOT BE MORE ADORABLE!!! Meet Shep! Shep is a 7-month-old neutered male German shepherd and Australian shepherd mix. As you can see by the photos, he is a very striking and pretty dog. He is up to date on all shots and is heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative. He is a loving dog who just wants to be friends with everyone! He is calm for a puppy his age, just a few play sessions will tire him out all day. He’s mostly housetrained, but does still make a few mistakes when left alone for a long period of time. He’s also still teething so he adores his chew toys. He has not been seen him around cats, but he loves to play chase so he may show some nonagressive interest in them. He likes other dogs and is quite enthusiastic when meeting new friends. He has also never been around kids, but we are sure that based on his temperament, that Shep would greet them merrily, demanding to be petted. One of is favorite activities is lying on shaded, cool concrete outside and rolling in grass, so he would do great if he had access to a back yard or a nearby dog park. He is a very quiet dog, never growling, and he barks extremely rarely. Shep came from the SPCA when he was a thin, scared dog. When he came home, he was afraid of nearly everything, mainly large men, scissors and doors. He had no idea how to act inside and play with his toys. We don’t think Shep had ever seen a toy! All you had to do was clap your hands and he would cower down as if expecting to be kicked. Shep has opened up considerably since I first adopted him, although large men still greatly intimidate him. He knows now which toys are his and chews merrily on them all day long. Please forward, and let's see if we can find Shep that wonderful home he so deserves!
