Friends, Meet Shep! Shep is a German Shepherd that was found, or rather rescued, the weekend of the Fourth of July by a Scout's Honor volunteer. Extremely lucky Shep has a guardian angel and a Scout's Honor volunteer to thank for being alive! Shep was literally drowning in the bayou when he was spotted by a Scout's Honor volunteer. Luckily, our quick thinking volunteer rushed to Shep's aid and got him out of the bayou before it was too late. He is a very beautiful dog but was very skinny when he was rescued. He is in boarding right now and has been eating well, putting on weight and is now ready to go to a foster home that can give him the attention and love he needs. Shep is a very bashful guy. He gets scared very easily, but does not act out at all. He just cowers down and tries to make himself as small as possible. Poor baby likely had a rough life before Scout's Honor. When you go to put a leash on him he cowers down and puts his front paws over his head. It is so sad to see and to imagine why he got this way

- horrible people no doubt. Though he is scared, he will warm up to you once you give him a little love and he realizes that you are not going to be mean to him.

Shep has been in boarding since July 4th and we really want to get him into a loving foster home so he can start his new life and learn that not all people are bad. Shep is a young guy, neutered, up to date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Shep is sweet boy that just needs a caring home.

Shep is in a foster home with other dogs and doing wonderful!! He's just a love and his foster family says he's a really good dog and very well mannered. He loves other dogs and is very affectionate.
