Scrappy

Scrappy Doo is a 10-12 year-old, 60-lb Chow mix. Scrappy Doo’s world was upended recently when his human mom passed away after a long illness. Scrappy had been her constant, well-loved companion through her illness, lying quietly at the end of her bed to keep her company.

When she passed away, her husband was cooking dinner and Scrappy got up and went to get him. Unfortunately, Scrappy’s dad found it inconvenient to keep him and threatened to euthanize him. At that point, another family member stepped in to transport Scrappy from Florida. Scrappy’s new home was short-lived as his would-be rescuer’s two dogs would not accept the newcomer and kept attacking him. Poor Scrappy wouldn’t even defend himself.

Scrappy is now with a Scouts Honor foster while waiting for his forever home. He’s a sedate, calm dog with no real bad habits or behavior issues: he doesn’t chew or dig, he’s housebroken and
leash-trained, and he gets along well with other dogs. He loves going on walks, patrolling the back yard and lying at your feet while you watch t.v.  He’s a gentle, easy dog, happy for a pat on the head and to hear his name. Scrappy does have a touch of arthritis in his back legs and is a little shaky when getting up in the morning. He’s fine, however, once he gets going. Please consider giving this guy a loving home in which to spend his golden years.
