Scout 1

Meet sweet Scout!  He earned his namesake when his foster mom wanted to honor the group that stepped in to help him.  Scout was found wandering the streets up in north Houston in the brutal August heat. With Scout’s heavy & severely matted coat, he was suffering from heat exhaustion when he was found by the good Samaritan that is now fostering him.  She coaxed him to follow her home and poor Scout was so weak, he would stop and lay down until he had enough energy to walk again.

Scout has a couple of ear infections and did have to be shaved down to remove all the mats.  You can see below in his before and after pictures. He looks like a big handsome teddy bear now and once that coat is back, he will look like the royal boy that he is!  Scout has stolen the hearts of just about everyone he has met so far. He is very gentle and loveable. The vets poked and shaved and cleaned his ears and he just sat there -  happy to be inside and happy to be getting loved on.  He gets along with other dogs fabulously and could care less about the cat!

Scout has clearly been a house dog & we think he must have lost his way from home somehow. He knows his way around the house, he is house broken, and loves to lay on the floor for belly rubs and snuggles. His foster mom describes him as simply an “incredible dog”. I love that!

Scout is approximately 5-6 years old and weighs 79 pounds.
