Meet Sasha!

Poor Sasha ended up at BARC after being picked up from a horrible situation. Sasha's "owner" had moved or been evicted, who knows, but left this poor little girl tied up in the backyard with no food or water. It is amazing that she lived. A neighbor eventually noticed and called to report her. When the officer got there he saw how bad of shape she was in and immediately took her to BARC. Well, that was back at the beginning of November 2012, and she has sat at BARC since then as she was the evidence in the cruelty investigation against her former owner.  Poor baby just sat in a dark, small cell all through the holidays, with no attention and not even getting to go outside!  We saw her when we did the recent BARC pull and inquired why she could not be released to us.  It was heartbreaking to have to leave her there that day.  After about a week, we got the all clear from the attending officers for her release and bailed her out of there.
 

As you can see from her original pictures, this poor girl had very little hair and open wounds and scabs all over her body. Nothing contagious, just horrible neglect!  It is absolutely amazing that she did not get sick at BARC for the months she was there!!  Equally amazing is her precious personality. When we rescued her she was as sweet as she could be and just wanted to nuzzle up and be petted.  This baby girl is never looking back and is just a happy-go-lucky girl!
 

Sasha looks to be a younger (1-1 ½ years) Shepherd Mix of some sort and only weighs about 35-40 pounds.  She's a petite little thing.  She has blossomed into one gorgeous girl after a little TLC.  She has the most amazing eyes - one brown eye, one half brown, half blue! She's just fine to be around other dogs and loves to play as you can see!  She loves kiddos too.  She's very affectionate and has good manners, including house manners, too.  Sasha loves car rides and sits like a little human and looks out the window. It's adorable! She also loves to curl up in your lap and go to sleep. She really likes other dogs, toys and sleeping on the couch is definitely something she loves.  She’s just not sure about cats, so a home without cats is needed.

Sasha is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and micro-chipped.

Please consider helping this girl get a new start in life.  She deserves to be in a loving home romping around with other dogs or kiddos.  She just such a sweet baby girl!!  Please consider adopting this baby girl – she would be an awesome addition to any family!!  She really would love to be in a great foster home while she waits on her forever home so she can get out of boarding!
