Sampson 2

Do you have the patience and kind heart to show Sampson there are good people in this world that do LOVE dogs? I have never seen a dog more sad than Sampson. He sat on death row at BARC (the Houston pound) and hung his head and tucked his tail between his legs. When he would raise his head, he looked right thru you. It was as if he saw no one or heard no one. This was his obvious defense against a world that had treated him so cruel. I had to carry Sampson out of the pound and to my car, as he was too afraid to walk. It was almost 4 months ago that I carried Sampson out of BARC. You would not recognize Sampson today. He looks at you and actually smiles, his tail wags, and he is even learning to play with toys. Sampson is still shy with humans, but is getting better every day. He loves to follow the other dogs around. He is a gentle soul who has a whole new lease on life. Sampson is a male, Golden Retriever/Chow mix, approx 1 – 2 years old, 50 pounds, healthy, vaccinated, neutered, micro-chipped, crate-trained, and in the process of learning basic obedience commands. Sampson needs a special individual or family that will be patient and show him there are loving humans in this world that he can trust. Sampson will be a very loyal and loving companion to his human.
