Safron

Safron’s an older lady at approximately 10 years old, and has lived a pretty rough life. Her teeth are broken, she’s had puppies, her skin is rough from laying on the concrete yet she remains steadfast with a smile on her face. Nothing a little time and love won’t cure for sure.  Safron was in a ditch near a school when one of our SHR volunteers spotted her. She was timid and it was getting hot. The dog catcher was on his way but the nice volunteer swayed her in to her direction with some food, water and nice belly rubs. She would have not fared well in a shelter due to her age and condition. She is in a safe place for now but is really looking for a nice foster home while she is on the mend. She does not show any aggression and did well with the other dogs in the vets lobby. They did look at her strangely because she is in bad shape, all she said was “this is heaven and I ain’t going nowhere”.
