Meet Roy

Roy came to our attention from a BARC plea of two sweet babies that were found abandoned, crated with no food or water, left for days after his "owner" moved out of the apartment, leaving behind the two most precious lives. Roy had no idea what was going on, but scrawny as can be this boy KNEW he still looked GOOD!!!

Roy had to languish in the shelter for months while the cruelty investigation went on with his “owners” then after all of that found that he still was not going to make it out alive. The stress he endured while at the shelter prevented him from gaining weight and therefore, he was never going to make it to the adoption ward, even with the most AMAZING smile.

Well, we were on our way to save another baby , our sweet Clementine and we couldn’t leave Roy and Shirley there one more day. We instantly snatched him up, took him to our amazing vet and started showing him what unconditional love looks like!

Roy is an awesome Plott hound or Plott hound mix. And if you like to laugh this boy may just be for you. He is so full of himself you just have to laugh. You can just tell he thinks he is the FINEST of dogs, even though he is currently probably less than half of what he should weigh. But we have run all the tests to make sure that there is nothing preventing him from putting on weight, and all tests have come back clean. Now that he is in a nice comfy boarding facility where he does not have to worry we are seeing daily improvements. Imagine the improvements if he were in a home!!!
