If you are looking for a sweet and faithful companion then look no further than Riley. Our old soul Riley was one of 15 dogs that we recued from BARC back in April 2010.  Riley was picked up as a stray and sat at BARC (Houston pound) for a long time with no one coming to save him. His time was running out at BARC when Scout's Honor came and saved him. Even amid all the chaos at BARC, Riley was just a cool customer, nothing seems to rattle him. We think Riley is a Bernese Mountain Dog/Australian Shepherd mix. He’s super sweet, calm and gentle. His foster mom thinks he’s perfect.  He’s neutered and gets along well with his foster canine siblings. He even “talks” to you when he’s hungry or needs to go out. He’s housebroken, and doesn’t chew or dig. He knows the commands for sit, stay, lie down, and loves a good belly rub. Riley is such a handsome man and so well behaved that we cannot believe he has not been adopted yet. He is just a gem that people have seemed to overlook. So if you are reading this, Riley says, " Don't overlook me! Please take me home, I promise you won't regret it!"
