Meet our sweet lady Rika!! Rika had a rough start to life...she was found as a stray with her little babies living on the streets when a kind stranger took her and saved her and the babies. The babies have all been adopted and now Rika is finally ready for a home all of her very own!!

Rika is a petite staffordshire/heeler or cattledog mix. She is about knee-high and has the most unique coloring...she is definitely one of kind!! Rika loves other dogs but would also be fine being the only dog in the home too. Rika is totally housetrained and is very obedient. She is also crate-trained and is an expert at the doggie door. She is just waiting for her forever family to come along -- she will be so loyal and such a good doggie.

Rika has lots of cute personality traits.....she knows the food routine......she sits still and paws at us and then loops through the kitchen, study and dining room and ends in her kennel in the living room where she tap dances for her food. She knows she doesn't have furniture privileges. so....she'll sit up sort of like a prairie dog and leans back, stretching her neck and slowly tries to crawl up in our laps.......she looks incredibly uncomfortable physically,-----she looks really, really funny......but emotionally she is in bliss when we are loving on her.....you can see it in her eyes. Rika is very smart and she sits pretty and will sometimes shake......she is a quiet companion......I think we've heard her bark once or twice.....she has learned that from our black lab who "talks to us" when we return home, come downstairs for the first time in the morning, and when we are doing the feeding routine. She talks a little bit, too...she is the perfect companion for a quiet lifestyle......

She is quiet and has a non-intrusive attitude......she sits quietly and snoozes while I do email on the computer...She is very laid back and loves to just lay her foster mom's feet for a nice afternoon nap. She loves all people and would do well with a single person or family. After living on the streets, she loves being inside and part of the family so Rika would also be fine living in a townhouse or condo. Rika's foster mom said she is a very easy dog to have in the household. Rika is about 40-50 pounds -- she's not very tall but is very stout. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all of her shots.
