Meet Princess!! She is indeed royalty and one gorgeous lady!! And look at those ears!!! How can you resist that sweet face?? Princess was rescued from BARC (the city pound) where she was on borrowed time! She caught our eye immediately as I have never seen a dog like her -- she is definitely one of a kind!! She is young, about 1-2 years old, she is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on all of her shots and is heartworm negative --- all she needs is a new family and home to call her palace!! She is very sweet and gets along great with other dogs. She helped raise and care for her other foster brothers and sisters who were just tiny babies when they came to live with her. She is very prim and proper but has this amazing personality that will steal your heart. She probably weighs about 35 pounds and is full grown. As for her breed, she appears to be a pure bred Decker Rat Terrier - which is very rate, especially here in Texas!!! If only she could tell us her story!! If my house wasn't full, I would adopt her in a second!!! Princess is also totally housetrained, crate trained and has basic obedience training. She is very loyal yet loving with an adorable, cute personality!!! The Decker Rat is a rare breed and is considered to be a very fine dog. They are great house pets and companions and extremely intelligent. Their upkeep is minimal having a short coat and being of relative small size. The devotion they have for their owners pays back their keep 4 fold. They are social, alert and great watchdogs to boot. Some nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities are using them as therapy dogs. This is an all purpose companion dog that is truly in a class by itself. After taking some time to get to know the breed we are sure you will come to admire and love them as we have. This breed has also been known as The Decker Rat Terrier and The Decker Giant Rat Terrier.
