Meet our sweet, cutie pie girl Polly, who was rescued from the streets of Houston. Thanks to a kind volunteer, who offered to foster sweet Polly, she is safe and sound but ready for a home of her very own.  No one deserves a forever home more than this great girl, who's been waiting so patiently for the right home to come along! 

Polly is a 2-3 year-old, 40 pound Australian Shepard/Shar-pei mix (we have the DNA test to prove it J ), who loves nothing more than being outdoors playing. She loves exploring smells, people or whatever is out there. She also LOVES squeakers and her toys too. Polly has a very special trait: she is a total people lover! She is 100% lapdog and a total snuggler and loves nothing more than to have her belly rubbed. If you are looking for a dog that just loves people and pleasing them, Polly is the girl for you!  Whenever she is in the house, she is always very calm, watching out for that treat that she deserves for doing something good.   After living on the streets and having a rough life without people who cared, Polly likes to be the center of attention and can be a little possessive over her toys and treats and would probably do best in a home where she is the only dog and can be the center of her human’s life and keep all the toys to herself.  While she does live in a foster home with other dogs, we think she would thrive in a home as the only pet but might be ok in a home with an experienced owner and a submissive dog, we’d just have to take it on a case by case basis; same with cats, she tested well with our vet’s shop cat but would have to see how she did in a home with a kitty. 

Polly is highly trainable because she is very driven by treats and will do anything you want her to do and catches on very quickly to things!  Polly is totally housetrained and crate trained as well.  She's just that perfect roommate.  She is also laid-back and usually doesn’t even get out of bed until after you’ve had your first cup of coffee!  She will make someone a very excellent companion and loyal friend.  She has a wonderful disposition and is just a great dog.
