Petty

Meet Petty the Heartbreaker!  Look at that face!!!  He’s telling you he wants to go home with you today!!

Petty is a young medium sized yellow lab/lab mix. He only weighs about 50 pounds or so and is about 1-2 years old.

Petty was picked up roaming along the bayou in the Oak Forest neighborhood. He was lost and roaming like he didn't know where to go, but luckily he found us thanks to a good Samaritan.

Petty is as good as they come.  He is wonderful on a leash. His foster walks him with her two large dogs and kids and no matter what crosses their path, he stays right by her side.  Petty doesn't need a ton of maintenance in general.  He is happy to run or walk - either way, just glad to be with you.   He is crate trained and has not had an accident or even marked in his foster home.  He may need a little incentive getting in the crate with a treat if he is having fun with his foster siblings, but he will just go in there and wait patiently until it's time to come out again.  He is a great boy and eager to please.  

Petty LOVES kids.  His foster has a toddler and a newborn.  He is so gentle and delicate and keeps a respectful distance until invited.  Then when he is close, he does the cutest little head tilt and paws at their feet.  His favorite spot at dinner is under the high chair.  He knows where the good stuff is!  

Petty plays hard with other dogs, and completely falls in line.  He knows where his place is in the pack and picks up on the energy of the other dogs and knows when it's time to play or not.  Petty has no problem with small or large dogs.  

All around, Petty is the greatest.  He is a happy, playful boy that just wants to find his place and love on anyone that comes in his path!
