Meet Peggy Sue, the Catahoula Leopard Dog puppy!

She is being fostered in Houston Heights and available for adoption. She is safe and off the mean streets of Houston FINALLY! She was taken in by a volunteer after she was found to be living on the streets near the Port of Houston in Galena Park. Peggy Sue is in need of a forever home for the holidays. Poor girl was found just sitting there in front of a gas station near Highway 610 for days, riddled with fleas and with no one to care for her. She likely was dumped off by an uncaring soul, left to fend for herself on cold nights and eat scraps off the streets. 

Peggy Sue is a female Catahoula Leopard Dog estimated to be no more than 6 months old at 29 lbs. This puppy will likely grow up to be a medium-sized dog. Peggy is a snuggle-bug that loves to be held in your lap and hugged. She is waiting for that special person to come along and give her a loving home where she will be safe and sound forever. Please consider opening your home and heart to Peggy Sue this holiday season.

Peggy Sue has a medium-high energy level, playful, and very huggable. Peggy Sue absolutely loves playing with other dogs that love to play with her! Her current best friend is a 160 lb. English Mastiff who she loves to outsmart during play by running underneath him! She doesn't mind being swatted or having her entire head swallowed in his mouth during play! She often teases her dog friends with rope toys to entice them to play with her. She would do well as an only dog or as an addition to your gang.  

Peggy Sue can be shy and cautious as first, but trusting of you once you show her that you are there to help her and love her. She is all smiles with her humans! Her tail wiggles with delight once she is in your arms!   Someone must have taught her to sit on command! She is pretty good at it when she wants to be. She is also quickly learning her new name and responding to it!   We are working on regular walks, as they seem to be a new experience for her.  Peggy Sue is housebroken and has not has one accident in the house yet. Her foster mom keeps her crated during the day.  She loves going for a ride in the car & rides well, staying put on the backseat just looking out the window.  She would be a good dog to take on a little road trip!

Peggy Sue is spayed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. She will still need one round of boosters  She is heartworm negative, which is a wonderful thing! She is on monthly flea and tick preventative as well as heartworm preventative. She's a healthy young girl who deserves to be in a forever home. At approximately 6 months old, Peggy Sue will likely be a medium-sized dog when she reaches adulthood.
