Otto

Meet Otto!  He is oh so handsome!  Otto is an approximately 4-year-old German Shepherd.  And, boy, does he have a sad story.

He was originally found as a stray, and the vet said he had had a pretty hard life.  Scout’s Honor took him into the program over two years ago and named him Klaus.  He was adopted to what we thought was a great family.  They renamed him Otto.  Unfortunately, they contacted us yesterday wanting to give him up because he jumped their fence.  When he was adopted out, we told them not to leave him alone in the backyard for long periods of time because (like lots of GSDs) he is a fence jumper, but they did not listen to us.  While Scout’s Honor wants all of their dogs to be indoor dogs and a part of each adoptive family, we found out they just left him outside.  We were told that he was kept outside because they “tried to keep him inside but he won’t sleep and keeps walking around and knocking things over.”  Um . . . . what to say to that???  When we got his vet records, we found out from the vet that he had come in twice infested with fleas.  That is no way for him to live, so we are so glad they returned him to us so we could place him in a proper home!

Otto is extremely calm and docile.  He loves people and gets along great with other dogs.  Otto is more laid back than the other dogs.  He likes to play, but prefers to just hang out and take in the sights.  Quite simply, he is a big love bug.

Poor Otto is currently being kenneled at our vet and NEEDS A FOSTER!!
