Oaks was the first of 6 siblings to be rescued from under an abandoned house in a bad part of town. The momma was so afraid of her family being torn apart by unknown humans, she guarded them with her life. But Scout's Honor volunteers knew if the pups started wandering from the safety of under the house, they would eventually be running the streets and who knows what could happen then. We didn't want to even think about it!

Now safe in his foster home with one of his siblings, Oaks is one handsome lab mix. Running and playing without a care in the world. He loves to play until he crashes, then willingly goes into his crate (with the aid of a mini-dentabone) to roll over on his back and snooze. He and his brother, Deuce, enjoy splashing in their little wading pool out on the back porch on hot summer days and curling up inside when it is cold. He has the perfect life; eat, play, sleep.

In addition, he loves to be held and he's not afraid to give lots of kisses in appreciation. Oaks is ready for his forever home. He is crate trained and house trained. He's going on about 9 months old and will probably grow to be a medium size dog of about 30 - 40 lbs. Oaks loves his foster mom, but knows it is time for him to move on to a forever home so his foster mom can keep helping other dogs. Won't you give Oaks the home he wants so much?
