Meet ADORABLE Mulch! Mulch is a little black and brown puppy who was found with his brother Lottie running along I-59. They were picked up by Sugar Land Animal Control before they were hit, thank goodness. Now Mulch is safe and sound in our foster program and ready for his new home!
Mulch is a 3 to 4 month old puppy and currently weighs about 11 pounds. We think he is a malamute mix of sorts (with a little retriever mixed in we believe). Mulch currently lives with six other dogs and a cat and has had no trouble adapting to the pack and fits in nicely. He plays well with the cat. Mulch is starting to learn the word “NO” and knows what “let's go outside” means. He has had a few accidents inside, but has started sitting at the back door when he needs to pee (sometimes he can’t hold it, but his foster parents have chalked it up to him being so young and not having complete bladder control yet). His foster dad says being completely pottytrained is not far off. He is cratetrained (will fuss for just a couple minutes) and sleeps the night through (but his foster parents make sure that he has no water after 8:30 pm). They are working on leash training him.
Much is VERY playful with the other dogs, especially the youngest. Mulch is ALMOST to the point where he’s sitting, along with the others, when his foster parents are handing out dog-bone-treats, but sometimes he just can’t contain himself though and starts jumping around like a crazy man.
Mulch loves the water. When he got to his foster home he ran out the gate, behind his fosters' house, and jumped in their lake before they could stop him. He swam around with no trouble, so he seems to have a bit of a water-dog streak in him. He’ll also chase balls and toys and bring them back, sort of (because he wants to play tug-of-war with you).
Mulch is vaccinated (still needs a couple boosters, which we cover), neutered, and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy, please contact Laura at lcarlock@gibbs-bruns.com.
