Hi, my name is Mitzie. Since I was pulled from BARC (Houston city pound), I've been staying with my foster mom and another girl that looks a lot like me just bigger. My foster mom says Im the smallest, cutest Rottie she has ever seen (I love to hear that!). She calls me a Pocket Rott (I'm only about 50 lbs)! My favorite hobbies are hopping through the yard, playing with toys, running, and giving kisses to everyone I meet. I have lots of energy and would love to live with an active family.
The vet thinks I'm a year old, but I can't remember my birthday. A lot has happened since then. Someone put a collar on me as a puppy and never took it off. So, my neck is healing right now since the collar became embedded in my neck and had to be surgically removed. Boy was that scary! But I'll be like new very soon. I just found out I'm slightly heartworm positive, but I am going to start treatment for that right away. I overheard that I've got to get spayed soon not sure what that means or if there's steak involved?
Apparently I need some training and my foster mom is working on that. No one has ever told me the rules, but I'm a quick learner. I listen when my foster mom directs me and when my foster sister puts me in my place. Usually, I just roll on my back with a smile they seem to like that. I stay in a crate for a couple of hours a day and I like it okay. One day when I am older and wiser, I will get to stay out of the crate when I'm alone.
