Miles
Labrador Retriever (short coat) • Male • Senior • LargeThis pet is currently "On Trial" with a family.
Poor Miles came into BARC as a stray and immediately caught our attention due to his super sad face, the poor condition he was in and his age. He just looked so depressed sitting in his tiny run. We were up there to rescue 2 other dogs and were originally going to try and get Miles too but were told that he had a microchip and they were contacting the "owner". That news gave us some hope that he would get back home. Sadly, it turned out Miles had been adopted from BARC as a puppy about 9 years ago and had been with the same family the whole time. Well, sadly for Miles, his owner is just heartless and had no interest in getting him back. Because of his age and poor condition (skin and bones) Miles ended up right at the top of the euthanasia list. When we heard we got up there to get him the next day before it was too late and boy are we glad we did. Miles is just the SWEETEST guy and is very gentle. He just looks at you with those sad eyes as if to say thank you and then when you go to pet him, he leans in and that tails starts going.
We were told Miles did not have any issues at the shelter, and in the short time we have had him he has been the perfect gentleman. Miles is a 9 year old black lab who weighs about 60 pounds (but needs to put on some weight).
This sweet boy would love nothing more than a cozy place to rest and spend his golden years being spoiled like all good boys deserve! Will you be the hero that finally gives Miles a loving home before it’s too late?
