Meet Mika (pronounced "mee-ka")! Mika was an owner surrender that Scout's Honor has been nursing back to health for the last several months. This sweet, beautiful girl was the product of animal abuse worse than most people had seen. Her appearance when we took her in was so bad it brought many people to tears. Mika weighed only 29 pounds and was missing hair on 80% of her body. As you can see from one of the attached picture, her skin was bright red, blistering and covered with open sores with blood seeping through her skin. She was so weak that she couldn't even hold her head up. After the care and support of many volunteers and the generous donations of many more we were able to get Mika back on the road to recovery. As she has recovered she has put on a lot of weight and all her hair has growing back nicely. She has also started showing her charming personality - a social butterfly. She is very sweet and just wants to be loved. She also can be a little sassy when she isn't getting enough treats and will let you know that she wants more.
This girl has been through so much and has come so far. All she wants is a wonderful home where she will get the love and care she deserves. Mika is a playful 1-2 year old white Husky who loves, loves her toys as you can see from her picture - she sleeps with them ALL! Mika gets along just fine with other dogs.
