Maverick 1

Meet Maverick! Maverick was found as a little stray puppy, along with his sister and two other pups (Olga, Maya, and Bounder). A good Samaritan rescued them, and we took them into the program. When we found them, they had mange and open sores all over their bodies. After some serious love and care by a wonderful foster, this young man is adorable and happy pup who is ready for his new home.

We believe Maverick is a Jack Russell Terrier/Pit/Terrier mix. As you can see by the pictures, Maverick has possibly the biggest ears known to dog. He is full grown at 45 pounds and almost a year old. He makes good eye contact and seeks your approval. He loves toys, bones, and understands the difference between what's "his" and what's "people stuff." (e.g., TV remotes, shoes, and other enticing small objects.) Although Maverick gets along with other dogs, he's a bit bossy with smaller dogs, so should probably be in a home with bigger dogs who will put him in his place. He doesn't pay a lick of attention to squirrels and cats. He is completely pottytrained, loves his kennel, and sleeps all night in it without a peep.
