Lindy

Meet Lindy!

Lindy was rescued by SHR from BARC. We actually picked her up the day before our pull because she was at such risk of being euthanized. Lindy was picked up as a stray with a beautiful Yellow Lab mix. Lindy was absolutely terrified at BARC which is a death sentence there. Her buddy was rescued quickly, but they could not take Lindy. So, this poor baby sat at BARC waiting for that dreaded day. We just could not resist those piercing eyes!

Lindy is still very young, maybe 2 years old and is full of zest. She loves other dogs and spends much of her time playing with her three foster brothers and sisters. She even plays well by herself, and tosses her own squeaky ball and retrieves it. Lindy loves to snuggle and will be right there in your lap when time to relax. She loves to give hugs and kisses. When first picked up from the vet by her new foster dad, he knelt down and she immediately put her paws on his shoulders, gave him a kiss then laid her on his shoulder. She had never met him before. With some new people Lindy can be shy at first, but she quickly comes out of her shell and is a friendly, fun-loving girl.

Lindy is very smart and quickly solves problems.  She can open doors with push handles, retrieves her toys, knows sit, down, stay, come. As smart as she is it comes with some mischievous sometimes stubborn personality, if she wants something she will try really hard to get it. If she does not want to do something she can be stubborn, ignoring you, looking away or goes limp. She can be slightly protective of her pack and can become stressed in some situations. However she does respond really well to positive reinforcement very quickly. Lindy is a sweet wonderful dog, full of life and love!
