Lamont

Dear New Family; 

My foster mom is making me write a letter to you so you know what a great catch I am. :)  

Not only am I a really cute boy, but I also have LOADS of personality.   She did say I have to tell you the good and the bad so I will tell you a little about myself. 

I am a real lover.  I follow my mom and dad and foster siblings around a lot.  I don’t really like being alone and if I am left alone, you probably need to watch me.  I am a bit of a thief.  I will steal your shoes or your clothes.  I may or may not chew on them, but I like to have them by me.  OK – that and counter surfing and mouthing at you are my only three bad habits and I am sure I can learn not to do any of them in time and with age.   We have been working on them already and I am improving.

Now for the good –

·          I snuggle really well and will keep you warm.  The first night in my foster home I ran up the stairs, jumped in the bed and bedded down.  I didn’t move all night.  I slept like I had always slept in a bed.

·          I take long naps.  I play and play and play and then I crash so YOU have some time to recover. 

·          I am good in my kennel.

·          I am house trained.

·          I am funny.  I always crack my foster mom up.  I have my little quirks that she thinks are really cute and she would keep me if my foster dad would let her have another dog, but apparently four dogs is too many for him and besides -  then you would miss out on me and she couldn’t foster another dog. 

·          I am a quick learner.  I learned the first night that “sit” means “sit” and now I will “sit” on command.

·          I am a protector of my house.  My foster family lives in The Heights and I protect them with my loud bark when I am outside and working the fence with my foster sisters. 

·          I have been known to sing if you sing with me. 

·          I play well with other dogs – male and female.  I get invited to play dates and then they even INVITE ME BACK AGAIN so I must be doing something right! 

·          I am learning to walk/run on a leash, but I am probably not going to be a 6 minute miler.  If you run an 11-13 minute mile, I am your guy. 

·          I am happy all the time!  I like everyone and everything!   In the whole time I have been with my foster family, I have never been upset with anyone or showed any aggression to anyone or anything.  Even when my foster mom sticks her hand and takes my food away, I am okay.   Kind of unhappy, but okay.  I know I am getting a good meal.   (She only takes away my food when I am eating out of someone else’s bowl). 

Now about you – These are my requirements for my new family.

·          I need a comfortable couch.  I am a couch dog.  I love the couch and I love football games.  I must have had a great couch in a prior life, because within thirty minutes of being at my foster home, I had my corner of the couch picked out.

·          You need to be willing to love me and pay attention to me.  I am active and I love to play.  I love to chew antlers and bones.  I love to be by you. 

·          I am looking for a long term relationship and I promise to be extremely loyal and faithful to you and I need the same. 

·          I need playtime or activity.  I am young and fun and need some party time before I get old, but I don’t always need to play.  I am extremely laid back when I am not in that gear.
