Please meet beautiful Inky! (Just look at her most recent pictures!!) This exquisite girl had a very sad beginning. Inky was found tied to a telephone pole in front of someone's house. A woman untied her hoping she would go back home (not likely), but the dog stuck to her side. The woman did not take her in because she has two aggressive dogs, but Inky was so determined to be saved, she would jump into the woman's fenced yard and scratch on the door. The woman would continue to let her out of the yard, but each night Inky would jump right back over the fence. Finally, the woman contacted me begging for help. Inky was in pretty bad shape and losing her hair from demodectic mange (the NON-contagious kind).


We were blessed to find a WONDERFUL foster home for Inky! Her foster mom Wendy is great with pitties and has been able to tell me a lot about her. She is a very docile, friendly, and curious dog. She loves kids and is great on a leash. Her color is seal black, hence Wendy changed her name to "Inky." She is from the Gottie/Greyline breeding of dogs. While I though her ears had been cut by hand, Wendy believes her ears were docked professionally because both ears are perfectly symmetrical.


Inky is about 1.5 to 2 years old She is very loving and would make a great companion dog. Her coat has come back in nicely, and as you can see from the pictures, she is breathtakingly beautiful! It is hard to believe she is the same girl we found tied to a pole. She is great with all people and has no food issues or fearful habits. She is housetrained and cratetrained. She is very eager to please and walks nicely on a leash. She gets to go on bunches of walks and loves it. She knows how to "sit." She cannot be in a home with cats, however.


Inky has had a wonderful, whirlwind of a life while living with Wendy. Wendy takes her to all types of events and new places -- Discovery Green, farmer's markets, San Antonio, Austin, Lake Livingston camping, Arboretum, Brazos Bend, Hermann Park, outdoor cafes, etc -- nothing phases her. And, most important, on November 8, Inky passed both her AKC Canine Good Citizen test and her Therapy Dog International certification. We are so proud of her, and the tester said she's a wonderful, happy dog!
