Gina

Hi, my name is Gina and I’m a petite 39 pound female Lab, mixed with an unknown grandfather.

I was originally rescued when I was two days old, from a field on 34th street (Houston) in 2007.  At five months old I went to live on a mountain top in North Carolina.  But when tree and grass allergies kicked up, my owner could not deal with my skin issues, so I was in pretty bad shape when he called my former foster and told her I was going to be put to sleep!

Of course my original foster said, “Don’t kill her, bring her back to me.”  I was very sad, at first, losing my old life (I was a one-person dog), but I am now a happy girl, eating well and feeling so much better.

I am an indoor dog, but I am now having to live outside at my foster’s house and I think this is why my foster is looking for another home for me.  I did catch on quickly that I could not go inside and my foster Mom agrees with my former owner that I am a very smart little dog!! 

I am docile and just want to please you and I will guard you and your home with my life.  (I chased a tax assessor away from my former owner’s house when he was not home.)  I may be on the small side, but if a bad person comes my way, you can bet on me.

I run like the wind and  I prance when I walk (I’ve heard tell), and I’ve heard other words such as “sweet,” “precious,” and “darling” when people talk about me and I think they sound like fine words. 

I might be a little shy when we first meet, as I’m just now getting used to a lot of strange people (and I was a one-person dog), but give me a chance and I will wag my way into your heart.
