Miss Gidget is a joy to have around. She is extremely low maintenance. Gidget has gone from so scared she had to be lifted to go anywhere or even in her crate to a very happy dog who willingly "hops" in her crate. She is crate trained and appears to be housebroken - she's never had an accident. Gidget has been the best mom to her little puppy, Larue (the only survivor). If you are interested in adopting the mom and daughter duo, that can be arranged too!

Gidget is good with other dogs and kids. Gidget is extremely affectionate and loves nothing more than to sit with/on you on the couch, actually hugging you with her paw around you. It seems like she is trying to make up for the time lost during that rough patch on the streets. Gidget, her friend Lindsey and her baby Larue lived on the rough streets of Houston for close to 3 months before being rescued. A nice city worker made them a make-shift shelter and fed them as much as he could. They were out in the cold during Houston's recent freeze and Larue was the only survivor from the liter. The people in the area saw the 2 girls dropped off by some horrible people who just abandoned them and drove off. Unfortunately, Gidget's friend Lindsey was in really bad shape when we learned about this little family and our vet was unable to save her. Gidget and Larue pulled through and are just thriving.

Gidget is learning the luxury of playing with dog toys and balls and "mouth wrestling" her canine companions. She seems to have fully recovered from her medical woes and appears very happy and healthy. We would love nothing more than for Gidget to get the kind, loving, attention giving forever home that she so deserves. She is a very special dog.

Gidget is up to date on vaccination, spayed and micro-chipped. She's only about 35-40 lbs - the perfect medium size dog! She appears to be a Boxer mix.
