Meet Flip! Flip is a male, brownish-red pit bull that is about 2 years old and could not be any sweeter! He is named Flip because his two front feet point outwards, like little flippers. We are not sure if he was born this way or if something happened to him when he was younger and he was never treated properly. Either way, his front feet do not stop him from running, walking, or playing at all!
Flip is one of the BARC 16 that Scout’s Honor pulled a little over a week ago. Look at the attached pictures, and you will see our happy boy is a LONG WAY from BARC now!! Doesn't he look like a model?!
Flip's foster parents were hesitant at first about fostering a pit bull because of preconceived notions about the breed. With a little convincing, they took him for a trial weekend run, and we are thrilled to announce that Flip has definitely changed their opinion! You could not ask for a better dog, and they just love him to death!
Flip is not an aggressive dog at all; not toward other dogs and definitely not towards people. He loves everyone that he comes in contact with. He is very well-behaved and is actually quite mellow. He loves lying outdoors in the sun (we don't think he got a lot of sun in the dog pound and is really enjoying it now!) or just lying on his bed chewing a good ol' rawhide.
Flip loves to play fetch in his foster parent's backyard when they first get home from work or play tug of war with his toy rope. Flip sleeps in his crate at night, and although he did whimper the very first night because he was scared, they haven't heard him again now that he is comfortable with his surroundings. He really is a good boy! He is great on a leash too, never pulls, just walks next to you the entire time. He sheds very little, if at all. His foster parents haven't noticed any hair of his yet around the house.
There were some initial problems with potty training at the beginning of Flip's stay with his foster parents, but with some training, he seems to have gotten the hang of it. However, his foster parents do let him into the backyard often just to be sure, but their trust has grown tremendously in him!
