Meet handsome Ebony! Don't let the name fool you because Ebony is a gorgeous white German Shepherd. We believe he is about 4 years old, and he weighs about 65 pounds.
Ebony was originally rescued from BARC at 3 months old. Someone adopted him from BARC, but unfortunately lost his job, was evicted, and can no longer keep this poor boy. He relinquished Ebony to Scout's Honor so that he can find a new permanent home. We hope that home is with you!
Ebony unfortunately spent most of his life outdoors. I say "spent" (in the past tense!) because he has the run of the home INSIDE at his new foster mom and dad's. It took him awhile to understand that it was okay to be inside, and he really does well. He is crate trained and house trained. If he has to go to the bathroom, he will let you know by going to the door and do a little whining noise until you let him out.
Ebony is great with other dogs, although it took him a little while to understand that when other big dogs played, they weren't fighting. He has started to play with one of his doggie companions in his foster home, which looks REALLY cute because all of a sudden he will go into that "puppy play mode," doing the play bow and paw his play friend -- just like a puppy would!
Ebony loves his daily walks and walks great on a loose leash. Ebony also likes kids and loves to run. He is extremely loving and likes to lay his head on your lap or lean against your legs. In the house, he will always follow you around and lie down wherever you are. He enjoys a good belly rub and will invite you to give him one by just dropping on the floor and roll on his back. He is a really sweet boy!
