Can you help by adopting or fostering (even if just temporarily) our sweet little Darby??
Little Darby was rescued by Scout’s Honor Rescue this am from BARC. An urgent plea had been circulated about a poor dog who had one of his ears partially cut off and needed immediate medical attention and we just had to help him. Little Darby has clearly had a very rough life but you will not meet a sweeter little guy. He has one ear that has been partially cut off – our vet said the wound actually is relatively old so he had to suffer with it for a while. He also had a massive 3 inch collar on that was so tight it was starting to embed in his little neck and had to be cut off of him. Poor little

Darby is also very thin with his little ribs and hip bones showing and his poor nails have not been trimmed in a very long time and also makes us think he was just chained up somewhere. This little guy was so lucky to escape and I told him today, it’s the new start to a new life! Darby is some sort of mini white Shep mix, probably a true Heinz 57. I asked several people today what they thought he might be and heard everything from shepherd mix to sheltie mix to various small/medium terrier breeds so we are just settling for now on Shepherd / Terrier X. He is about 3-4 years old but given his hard life, he might be a little younger. He is just 28lbs and while he does need to gain some weight, he will probably be about a 35lb dog. He LOVES other dogs and just wants to play and gets so excited when he sees another one. He also LOVES people – we was walking up to everyone in the waiting room and putting his paws on their laps in the sweetest, gentlest way as if to say “Thank you world for saving me.” Seeing this sweet boy who has been thorough so much so happy will definitely bring a smile to your face!
