Meet Cricket — A Spunky Survivor with a Heart of Gold

Cricket may be small in size, but she’s overflowing with resilience, charm, and personality. This one-year-old dachshund mix was found tied up under a Houston bridge in the scorching heat, abandoned alongside two other dogs. It’s a heartbreaking reality we see too often: the easy-to-place dogs get saved, and the rest are left behind. But that’s not how we operate. Scout's Honor believes every life matters, and we stepped in to rescue all three.

Since coming into our care, Cricket has blossomed into a playful, sweet, and downright goofy little girl. She loves to romp around the yard, chase toys, and then crash in your lap for snuggles. Her lively spirit and loving nature make it hard to believe she came from such tough beginnings.

Cricket is patiently waiting for a soft place to land. What she really needs now is a forever home where she can feel safe, loved, and part of a family. She’s a smaller dog, making her a great fit for a variety of homes, and she’s more than ready to steal your heart.
