Hey everybody! I'm California Cali, and I am really something special!! Well that's what my rescuer/foster mommy says....but I am really a neat gal. I am mostly Catahoula/Dane/hound of sorts. My doctor says I'm around 4 years old and my rescuer found me two days in a row the weekend of July 19th, so my new Bday is July 20 2005.

Saved from having ropes and metal tie outs wrapped around my neck like a noose, malnutrition, and definitely no real love, I am looking for a good inside home that hopefully has a porch I can sit on with you while you have your morning cup of joe! I am very social, flirtatious some may say, kids and cats are cool and I definitely get along with dogs, so a canine companion would be awesome! I have learned how to play with dogs, squeaky toys, and go potty outside. I LOVE going to the vet cause it means you care, unlike the family who had me before. I know some commands like: get, back, stay, let's go, "California no pulling", how to walk on a leash and making my right and left turns on walks. I am really into this communication with your animal stuff that my foster mommy does. I definitely know she is my master. When I become your best buddy she can tell you all about that but I am warning you I will make you smile and give nuzzle kisses. Did I mention that I only get up on the "dog" couch and no other furniture and I sleep under the bed and won't chew a thing of yours.

From what I understand my rescuer found me two days in a row just a few blocks from her house. The second day she found me I was so scared standing on a busy street corner with the massive metal doggy tie out and rope around my neck. Eating is becoming fun but I am kinda picky about my kibble. My doctor says I have some neurological problems from having distemper as a puppy and being so neglected and malnourished. But it is no biggy-just some weakness in my rear legs and I use my mouth like a horse when I eat. So extra attention and love with supplements and preventative care is definitely the way to go with me! My foster mom can give you all her secrets.

SHR and my foster mommy say there is a special angel with me. My foster mommy says I smelled out the right time and person to save me from my icky past. I definitely want to keep living and enjoying this new life I have. I hope you will want me in yours!
