Boogie 3

Meet Boogie!!! You all should remember the sweet black lab that was sitting on a corner last week. We sent out a plea, and boy, did you all respond to the rescue! After receiving emails from so many people, a fabulous volunteer set out to try and find this guy even though we were told he usually could only be found late in the afternoon. Several of us showed up and we all recognized each as being fellow rescuers! One of the home owners in the area told us that he saw someone dump this dog several weeks ago.  Poor baby! He showed us where he thought the puppy camped during the day to get out of the sun – on someone’s cool, dry porch. Long story short - he found us as we walked up the sidewalk. He came off of the porch with his head held low and was very shy at first. Once he was petted, we had no trouble putting a leash on him. The secret weapon for gaining a dog’s trust is weenies. Works every time!! He ate the whole package and drank a bottle of water. He is in great shape! His coat is shiny and beautiful. The neighbors were feeding him. To look at him, you would not think he had been a “street puppy”. He must have been someone’s pet before being dumped as he is such a love bug and loves to ride in the car!! He and my wild child boxer have been playing in the backyard all last night and again this morning. He loves other dogs and is scared of the cats (for now). He does not jump on you and not a big barker. He is very sweet and has manners. (Maybe he’ll teach my other dog?) He loves toys and chewies. He is about 10 months old and weights 51 lbs and has already had all his shots and started on HW preventative. He is happy and healthy and goes in for his neuter at the end of the week.
