Meet Bishop,

On the way to take Scout's Honor boy Porter to his rehab appointment, I came across this. A young yellow lab begging for someone to stop and help his friend that unfortunately, had already gone to Rainbow Bridge. He would not leave her. He just kept licking and pawing her.  He was very friendly, tail wagging and silly head bobs, but was very nervous about us getting close to his friend. He would just gently nudge me with a polite, "don't."

We went to get Porter and ran him home and went back, more prepared. Think of all who saw him and did nothing, I will never understand.

We had trash bags to wrap her body in but still he did not want us too close to her. So we sat, trash bag in lap, petting him with both hands, his head against mine. Then he took the bag and draped it across her, letting us know we could get her.

We started gently getting her and about halfway, a nudge. We sat again head to head. He walked away.  We finished scooping her up, placed her in the car and he jumped right in.

He now knows that she is gone. We cannot get her back. He is sad but so sweet. He needs a foster that will help him find his way without her, someone who will be calm and patient and most importantly will love him.

Bishop , now his name, is probably under 3years old and a beautiful yellow lab. Scout's Honor will cover all vetting, can provide a crate, but we need a foster for this boy. If you can help please fill out our foster application at www.scoutshonor.org
