Hello!  My name is Belka and I'm a (roughly) 2-year-old Akita and Husky mix.  You can see my super beautiful eyes with one blue and the other blue/brown mix.  I also have a lovely coat of fur that is super soft whenever you pet me.  (Did I mention I love pets?!?! And ear rubs!!!)  A Russian buddy of mine told me Belka is the Russian word for squirrel, and is a common name for fellow dogs in Russia.  I think it's attributed to my super-fluffy tail.

Right now I am hanging with my foster dad while I find myself a forever home.  He takes me for walks as best he can but even when he is working all day I can happily stay in my crate.  I do however not enjoy being alone, so if I bark whenever you leave, it's only because I miss you!  All that aside, I am a great walker and a fantastic jogging buddy!  I even slow down if you do without a command.  I can sit, stay and I am learning shake and lie down.  But after a good walk, I am totally content to have a treat and nap away.  Little dogs and cats look like tasty treats to me as well, so I'd be better off in a home without small ones.  

Now for the highlights:  I don't climb on furniture or beds unless invited.  I don't chew up shoes and furniture.  I don't bark unless the door is knocked at.  I don't drool everywhere.  I am so well behaved you wouldn't believe!  The only thing I really chew is my nylabone and my rawhides.  I am totaly content to stay as close as I can and look at you with my big blue eyes!  Will you help me find my forever home?
