Barney (2)

Barney sat there “seemingly” forever loaded with fleas after his family discarded him at a city Shelter. His condition was poor. No one adopted him due to his condition but with a little loving tender care he has regained his shiny new coat and ready to find his forever home. He was taken in to Scouts Honor Rescue, Inc. a few weeks back and in a foster home with other smaller pups. They all get along very nicely even with cats. He doesn’t seem to care much about the kitty cats in the foster home. He is a tad stand offish a bit in the beginning but warms up nicely after a short while. I am thinking it had something to do with coming from a scary place one being his home and second the pound! No looking back for Mr. Barney only moving forward he said. He was so loaded with fleas they thought he had a tumor under his chin, but it turned out to be a flea nest. This conditions leads to such anemic poor health for dogs and cats. Not sure why people keep on purchasing them then tossing them away as if they were shoes or belts. Oh well, I digress. On to better and brighter days for Barney that’s for sure.  

Barney weighs in at 12 pounds and he may put on another pound or two. He is heartworm positive but has been given his monthly preventative. He will become negative in a matter of time.  Barney, as mentioned, plays well with others even 80lb German Shepherds and kitty cats! They were probably scared of Barney 0). Barney is fully vetted and up to date on all shots and micro chipped.
