Meet our ADORABLE little chihuahua, Amelia! She is currently staying in a house where the dog closest in size is more than 4 times as big. Not hard to do being that she only weighs 10 pounds. But what is hysterical is the D-I-V-A, that is coming out in this cutie. (And, her fosters are seriously cracking up as the "baby" in the family is 35 pounds)
How could you not love this tiny little bundle? At Barc she sat in the corner of her cold metal box, looking absolutely pathetic. But everyone, employee and volunteer, asked if we had met Twinkle, now our Amelia. So off we went to find her. She was terrified, but tried to be brave. She had been at Barc for over a month, an owner surrender on top of it all and still just a baby at 10 months old. We just knew we could not leave her behind.
She went straight to the vet. Poor baby was still terrified. Then she came to her foster home. As soon as she set foot in the grass and looked around you could see the fear and stress disappear. Scared and nervous was not who this little girl was. Instead she is an absolute blast, so incredibly funny. And sorry, but was incredibly easy to spoil. In less than 24 hours she had 2 sweaters, 1 coat, multiple tiny toys and treats the cat steals.
She does not need to be crated as she is potty trained and not at all destructive. She is polite to the cat, and is learning to not be afraid of the other dogs. She is actually playing with the two more gentle foster siblings. She loves her foster kids and sleeps snuggled up to one of them. She also fits perfectly in any of the American Girl doll beds but a good dog bed is probably the more economical route.
