Tess is a beautiful calico girl who is looking for a loving home. She was given up a few months ago by her previous owner because she had glaucoma in one eye. Her previous owner did not want to be troubled with treating Tess so she was taken to the pound to be destroyed. However, the volunteers at BARC saw Tess as a very adoptable kitty and decided to seek treatment for her rather than euthanize such a sweet girl. Tess was taken to Gulf Coast Eye Clinic where it was suggested the affected eye be removed. The eye was removed in March of this year. The loss of one eye has not hindered Tess in any way and she gets around very well. She has been given a clean bill of health by the veterinarians who removed her eye and there is no special care needed due to her eye removal other than she must be an indoor-only kitty. Tess is approximately three-years old. She does not have the typical calico attitude. She gets along very well with other cats and probably would do very well with children and non-aggressive dogs. She is sweet, affectionate, laid-back, calm, and very self-assured. She loves to be petted and to sleep next to her human. Tess loves to chirp when talked to. She will make a great companion for you and your family. Tess has been tested for feline diseases, vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. Please consider making Tess a member of your family.
