Meet little Penny who was rescued from Houston’s mean streets with her with one week old kittens that were living on the side of a building. Penny was rescued when some kind people noticed that she has left her kittens in the morning and had not come back all day long. As the people left work, they were worried about Penny’s kittens as this was unlike her to leave her babies. Not wanting to leave the newborns all night, they put a call into Scout’s Honor which rescued the kittens an hour later and found a wonderful volunteer to bottle feed them. Penny had obviously been taking very good care of them as they looked great!

The next morning, sweet Penny was found; she had been hit by a car and it took her all day and night to make it back to where her babies were. Penny had 2 huge lacerations on her leg and the other leg was clearly broken. Penny was whisked off to the vet where she had one leg stitched up and surgery was performed on to repair her broken leg.

We are so please to report that Penny is now fully healed from her ordeal and is living with her foster mum who has other cats with whom she gets on great.Penny is white with some tabby markings and is a little girl at 8 pounds. She is approx 12 months old and just a baby herself. This was her first and last litter of kittens. She has the sweetest little face with an adorable pink nose. Penny is a little timid and shy but after her life on the streets who can blame her. Penny loves to sleep near the cat food where she is the first to run for the food. Penny would probably be better in a house with out kids or dogs since at present she is so timid.
